Nammaveetu Basket was founded in 2025 by Vivekkrishnamurthy, built to help you track household items, reduce food waste, and organise shopping through local-first technology.
Recipe generation (Namma AI Buddy Chef) runs on your device. Bill-scanning uses an AI service to extract items from photos and PDFs, and results are shown to you for verification before anything is saved.
Core inventory and shopping-list features work without a constant internet connection.
This application utilizes the Gemma 3 model for local, on-device AI processing, powering features like Namma AI Buddy Chef's recipe suggestions.
AI outputs are assistive only. As with all generative AI features in this app, results should be verified by you before you rely on them — see the Privacy Policy below for full terms.
Namma Buddy, Namma AI Wisdom, and the AI Bill Scanner are strictly assistive and based on your input. Nammaveetu Basket is not responsible for AI outputs. None of this is medical, health, or professional advice. You're responsible for manually verifying expiry dates and any AI-generated results.
To prevent referral abuse, we collect a unique device identifier (UDID), used solely to link hardware to accounts for fraud prevention. It isn't shared with third parties.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. If a Pro subscription is active, cancel it in the Play Store first — this is a safeguard, not a lock-in. Deletion permanently erases local data and any cloud backups.
Nammaveetu Basket is intended for general use. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us for immediate removal.
You and your friend both get 5 bonus credits. Rewards are limited to one per physical device (hardware ID mapping) to prevent abuse.

Expiry dates aren't automated — you enter them, and alert accuracy depends on that. You're responsible for keeping dates correct to avoid consuming expired goods.
The app runs on a free ad-credit system. 1 credit = 1 expiry notification, 1 AI scan, 1 Namma AI Wisdom refresh, or 1 Buddy Chef message. Paid features are currently disabled but may launch later. Ad/referral/bonus credits are valid for 30 days.
Digital credits are non-refundable. Account deletion is blocked while a Pro subscription is active, to prevent unintended billing.
Nammaveetu Basket is the IP of Vivekkrishnamurthy. You own your kitchen data. Disputes are governed by the laws of India, under the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Tamil Nadu, India.
