Transparency & Privacy Policy

1. Local-First AI & Responsibility

All Generative AI features (Namma Buddy, Namma AI Wisdom, and the AI Bill Scanner for Photos & PDFs) process data LOCALLY on your device. These features are strictly assistive and based on user input. Nammaveetu Basket is NOT responsible for AI outputs. Generative AI is NOT for medical, health, or professional advice. Users are solely responsible for manually updating expiry dates and verifying all AI-generated results.

2. Information We Collect (And Don't Collect)

Zero Server Architecture: WE DO NOT HAVE ANY SERVERS. Absolutely nothing is uploaded, stored, or transmitted to any servers owned by us.
Inventory Data: Stored strictly locally on your device. Encrypted backups may be securely synced directly to your private Google Drive App Data Folder. This is a secure sandbox that only Nammaveetu Basket can access; your other Drive files remain completely private and inaccessible to the app. We have absolutely zero access to your Google Drive data.
Credit Information: Encrypted records of your credits are synced locally to ensure your purchases are protected across devices.
Diagnostics (Optional): You may choose to share anonymous app performance and crash logs to help us improve stability. This is disabled by default and can be toggled in Settings.

3. Permissions

We request access to:

Camera: For barcode scanning and grocery identification.
Notifications: For inventory expiry alerts.
Location: Used to provide local greetings and local festival alerts.

4. Anti-Fraud Data Collection

To prevent referral abuse and protect our credit ecosystem, we collect a Unique Device Identifier (UDID). This is used solely to link hardware to accounts for fraud prevention purposes and is not shared with third parties.

5. Data Deletion Rights

Users have the absolute right to delete their account and all associated data. As a safety measure, if a Pro subscription is active, you must cancel it in the Play Store before deletion is permitted. Upon deletion, all local data and cloud backups are permanently erased.

6. Children's Privacy

Nammaveetu Basket is intended for general use. We do not collect any information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us for immediate removal.

Zero-Server Storage Promise

We do NOT store your inventory, recipes, or personal images on our servers. Your data is stored locally or in your Google Drive. We have zero access to your kitchen data.

Referral Program

Earn rewards fairly! Both you and your friend get 5 Bonus Credits. Rewards are limited to 1 per physical device (Hardware ID Mapping) to prevent fraud.

Generative AI Transparency

Our Generative AI (Namma Buddy) is strictly assistive. All AI-generated advice is based on user input. Nammaveetu Basket is NOT responsible for AI outputs. The AI is NOT for medical, health, or professional advice. Users MUST read carefully and verify all results independently before use.

Manual Expiry Management

Expiry dates are NOT automated and must be updated manually by the user. The accuracy of all inventory alerts is purely based on user-provided data. Users are solely responsible for ensuring dates are correct to prevent consumption of expired goods.

Credit System & Validity

The app currently operates on a free Ad-Credit system. 1 credit is equal to 1 expiry date notification, 1 AI Scan, 1 Namma AI Wisdom refresh, or 1 Namma Buddy Chef message. Paid features and subscriptions are currently disabled, but may become available in the future.
Ad/Referral/Bonus: 30 Days Validity

Refund & Deletion

Digital credits are non-refundable. Account deletion is blocked if a Pro subscription is active to prevent unintended billing.

Legal & Jurisdiction

Nammaveetu Basket is the IP of Vivekkrishnamurthy. You own your kitchen data. Any disputes are governed by the laws of India and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Tamil Nadu, India.

Credit & Usage Policy

Free Ad-Credit System

The app currently operates entirely on a free Ad-Credit system. Users can earn credits by watching ads.

1 Credit = 1 Expiry Date Notification, 1 AI Scan, 1 Namma AI Wisdom refresh, or 1 Namma Buddy Chef message.
Credits earned via ads are valid for 1 month (30 days).

Paid Features Disabled

All paid features, subscriptions, and top-up packs are currently disabled in the app. They may become available in the future. All subscription and top-up prices are subject to change in the future based on market conditions.
